MG enters 14th European market
The Chinese car manufacturer SAIC Motor relaunched the iconic British car brand MG with a clear mission. Making electric mobility accessible to drivers who are young at heart and ready to embrace a new electric lifestyle. Offering smart, practical, safe and technologically advanced cars is the main focus.
MG Motor Europe started its sales operations late 2019 and has been on a rise in Europe ever since. The brand is – besides the UK – already available in The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal. As from next April, MG will be on sales in Sweden too, the 14th market in mainland Europe.
The new Swedish MG distributor Hedin Group AB expects to deliver the first MG models to customers from May. The head office and logistics centre will be located in Gothenburg. Here, the work has already started in building a dedicated sales organization. At the same time, a nationwide network of MG brandstores and aftersales locations is being set up.
Two new models
The Swedish MG brandstores, like elsewhere in Europe, can look forward to a promising year. They will offer the MG ZS EV and MG EHS Plug-in Hybrid to begin with. The new MG Marvel R Electric will hit the market from May. This is a progressive, high-tech lifestyle SUV with a powerful Tri-motor electric powertrain, a range of over 400 km and a spectacular interior with a 19.4-inch ‘floating’ touchscreen.
The new MG5 Electric, the world’s first all-electric stationary car, will follow in October. This practical, safe and spacious family car combines over 1,400 maximum cargo volume and a range of over 400 km.
In parallel with the expansion of the European network, MG is working hard behind the scenes to expand the product range with attractive electric models that meet the needs of demanding European motorists.
