The MG brand reflects on its successful relaunch and the rise of the iconic British car brand since it was revived in 2007 by its Chinese parent company. The brand with a great sporting history impresses by always responding to consumer needs, by daring to change and always being young. After many highlights, MG has now reached another milestone with 1 million vehicles sold overseas since its comeback in 2007.

In the run-up to the centenary of the MG brand, which was founded in 1924 as Morris Garages and made a major contribution to global motorsport history in the following years, the car maker is recording resounding sales results outside its home country of China.

To be more precise: the overseas sales has now exceeded one million MG vehicles since 2007, which is about half of total MG sales. Meanwhile, due to its strong research and development capabilities and solid overseas operations, MG is also the “Champion of China’s Single Brand Overseas Sales” for the third consecutive year. This is a strong testament to the achievements of MG’s global layout and deep cultivation over the years.

Today, MG products are welcomed in 84 countries around the world, while the brand has attracted 6 million fans worldwide on social media and is much loved by young consumers around the world.

MG ZS (EV): acclaimed worldwide

A major contributor to the 1 million overseas sales milestone comes from the MG ZS. Due to its acclaimed design, high safety level, solid quality and smart pricing, the MG ZS got off to a flying start. Especially in Europe with the all-electric MG ZS EV. The zero-emission SUV already pleased more than 15,000 customers in its first year of sales, with which it reached top positions in the UK, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands and France.

Furthermore, the MG ZS EV was the very first all-electric SUV in the B-segment to receive a five-star Euro NCAP rating for its excellent safety level. It also achieved the maximum number of five stars in the Australian ANCAP safety rating. Not much later, the MG ZS EV was declared 2021 Electric Family Car of the Year by the Flemish Automobile Association (VAB) in Belgium, and 2022 Car of the Year by the Swedish leading automotive magazine Teknikens Värld.

In May 2022, the MG ZS reached the number 1 position in the SUV segment in Australia, Chile and other countries. In the first quarter, the MG brand also ranked among the top 10 single brands in 18 countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, allowing users from all over the world to experience the high-quality and driving fun from MG.

With the upcoming launch of the MG4 Electric later this year, MG is continuing its global growth in an undisturbed manner.
