MG stands out from the crowd: why is it a ‘smart’ brand?

When we relaunched MG under the banner of our parent company SAIC Motor, we made a promise to European drivers: making electric mobility accessible to drivers who are young at heart and ready to embrace a new electric lifestyle. When we say MG is ‘the smarter choice’, we mean that, besides offering well designed, technologically advanced models, with high quality standards, which are among the safest in their class and which are readily available, they cars are also offered for a fair price.

But it’s not just the cars that are smart: the entire customer journey and experience are ‘smart’ as well. EV knowledge and experience

Additionally, MG is the smarter choice because there is a lot of knowledge and experience in building EV’s already within MG’s parent company SAIC Motor. The latter is in fact the 7th largest automotive manufacturer in the world. SAIC Motor focuses on the development of new energy vehicles (NEVs) – a term to designate battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and fuel-cell electric vehicles.

NEV sales by SAIC Motor saw a year-on-year increase of 73.4% in 2020. This makes SAIC Motor one of the most experienced EV manufacturers in the world. In addition, it partners with China’s largest lithium-ion battery manufacturer CATL.
