I sj\u00e4lva verket b\u00f6r \u00f6verg\u00e5ngen fr\u00e5n kol drivmedel till gr\u00f6n energi f\u00e4stas f\u00f6r att uppfylla alla nya regler. I april f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret n\u00e5dde Europaparlamentet och alla EU-l\u00e4nder en \u00f6verenskommelse om en ny europeisk klimatlag, som f\u00f6reskriver att koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen i hela EU m\u00e5ste minskas med 55% fram till 2030 j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med 1990. Avtalet inkluderar ocks\u00e5 att full koldioxidneutralitet m\u00e5ste uppn\u00e5s 2050.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>Med detta nya avtal har m\u00e5let f\u00f6rfinats ytterligare. Inledningsvis sattes ett m\u00e5l p\u00e5 40% f\u00f6r 2030. Den ytterligare sk\u00e4rpningen av koldioxid m\u00e5len kommer omedelbart att leda till att \u00e4nnu st\u00f6rre steg m\u00e5ste tas i snabb takt. Och bil sektorn har en ledande roll i n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndiga steg f\u00f6r att n\u00e5 m\u00e5len.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>Transport ansvarar f\u00f6r n\u00e4stan 30% av de totala koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen inom Europeiska unionen, varav 72% kommer fr\u00e5n v\u00e4gtransporter. Personbilar st\u00e5r f\u00f6r mer \u00e4n 60% av de totala koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen fr\u00e5n europeiska v\u00e4gtransporter.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>Sammanfattningsvis kan elektrifiering av personbilar p\u00e5 europeiska v\u00e4gar och d\u00e4rmed g\u00f6ra dem utsl\u00e4ppsfria ha en stor inverkan p\u00e5 v\u00e4gen till 55% mindre koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp till 2030. I detta sammanhang \u00e4r det ganska anm\u00e4rkningsv\u00e4rt att Europeiska unionen inte verkar att ha br\u00e5ttom med att vidta konkreta \u00e5tg\u00e4rder.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>Jag \u00e4r d\u00e4rf\u00f6r glad att se att Nederl\u00e4nderna &#8211; d\u00e4r MG Motor Europes huvudkontor ligger och d\u00e4r jag bor sj\u00e4lv nu &#8211; tar ledningen n\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller att uppmana Europeiska kommissionen genom en skrivelse att f\u00f6rbjuda f\u00f6rs\u00e4ljning av nya personbilar och l\u00e4tta nyttofordon med en f\u00f6rbr\u00e4nningsmotor i hela Europeiska unionen \u00e5r 2030.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>Det \u00e4r naturligtvis ett radikalt beslut och det kr\u00e4vs stora anstr\u00e4ngningar f\u00f6r att inse detta. S\u00e4rskilt n\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller laddningsinfrastruktur beh\u00f6ver mycket fortfarande g\u00f6ras, vilket jag f\u00f6rresten redan betonade i min tidigare kolumn.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>\u00c4nd\u00e5 \u00e4r det viktigt att nya bilar med f\u00f6rbr\u00e4nningsmotor inte s\u00e4ljs l\u00e4ngre 2030. F\u00f6r om vi vill vara helt koldioxidneutrala 2050 och ta den genomsnittliga livsl\u00e4ngden f\u00f6r nya bilar i beaktande har vi inget annat val \u00e4n att fasa ut f\u00f6rbr\u00e4nningsmotorn omkring 2030. S\u00e5 enkelt \u00e4r det.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p><em>I alla fall \u00e4r vi p\u00e5 MG redo f\u00f6r vad framtiden kommer att ge oss. P\u00e5 MG \u00e4r vi redan fokuserade p\u00e5 endast elektrifierade bilar. Vi har \u00e5tagit oss att g\u00f6ra elektrisk r\u00f6rlighet tillg\u00e4nglig f\u00f6r europeiska f\u00f6rare.
