Dat blijkt uit een studie van Transport &amp; Environment (T&amp;E), die daarmee aantoont dat de afhankelijkheid van ruwe olie in Europa veel groter is dan de behoefte aan grondstoffen voor EV-batterijen.<\/strong>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportenvironment.org\/publications\/batteries-vs-oil-comparison-raw-material-needs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Volgens de onderzoekers<\/a> zal het verschil in de benodigde grondstoffen nog verder toenemen door de voortdurende ontwikkeling van de batterijtechnologie. Naar verwachting hebben we over tien jaar de helft minder lithium nodig voor de productie van <a href=\"https:\/\/development.news.larva.cloud\/\/nl\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-charging-an-electric-car\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EV-batterijen<\/a>. De benodigde hoeveelheid kobalt zal met meer dan driekwart dalen en nikkel met ongeveer een vijfde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>T&amp;E stelt ook dat in 2035 meer dan een vijfde van al het benodigde lithium en 65% van het kobalt afkomstig kan zijn uit recycling als de strengere recyclingwetgeving wordt aangenomen die door Europese Commissie is voorgesteld. Iets dat niet kan worden gezegd over de brandstoffen die conventionele auto\u2019s opstoken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Lager energieverbruik<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Behalve het feit dat elektrische auto\u2019s minder grondstoffen nodig hebben dan auto\u2019s die rijden op fossiele brandstoffen, zijn EV\u2019s over het algemeen ook beter voor het klimaat. Uit het onderzoek komt ook naar voren dat een EV gedurende de gehele levensduur 58% minder energie verbruikt dan een vergelijkbare benzineauto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportenvironment.org\/what-we-do\/electric-cars\/how-clean-are-electric-cars\">levenscyclus analysetool<\/a> van T&amp;E is de (indirecte) CO2-uitstoot van een elektrische auto zelfs in Polen, het land met de meest vervuilende elektriciteitsproductie van Europa, nog altijd 22% minder vergeleken met een vergelijkbare benzineauto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MG heeft de missie om elektrische mobiliteit toegankelijk te maken voor iedereen en levert nu al uitsluitend ge\u00eblektrificeerde auto&#8217;s.
