SAIC Motor<\/a> (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) was founded in 1958 and is the seventh largest automotive manufacturer in the world. It\u2019s the largest carmaker in China as well. It sold 5.6 million vehicles in 2020, ranking first in China for the past 15 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company is also known as the first in China to set up a joint venture in the field of car production. In 1984, in partnership with Volkswagen. Since then, SAIC Motor has been producing Volkswagens for the Chinese market under the name SAIC Volkswagen.
