MG Motor Europe to Establish a Direct National Sales Company in Belgium and Luxembourg from 1 July 2026

  • MG brand will be operated directly by MG Motor in the BeLux region as of 1 July 2026.

Amsterdam, 7 May 2026 – MG Motor Europe announces an important next step in the development of the MG brand in Belgium and Luxembourg. As part of MG’s broader European growth strategy, the company will establish its own National Sales Company (NSC) in the BeLux region, effective 1 July 2026.

The transition underlines MG’s long-term ambition to further strengthen its position in Europe, while continuing to invest in sustainable growth, customer experience and strong partnerships with its retail network.

Supporting a strategic transition

MG Motor Europe and mobility group Astara have reached a joint agreement to manage the transition in a structured and efficient way during the first half of 2026. Both parties will work closely together to ensure continuity for dealers, customers and business partners throughout the process.

The focus during the transition period will be on maintaining smooth day-to-day operations and ensuring uninterrupted service levels across the market. Customers will continue to benefit from the same level of support, warranty coverage and aftersales service.

Building on a successful foundation

MG Motor Europe expresses its appreciation to Astara for the successful development of the brand in Belgium and Luxembourg since its relaunch in 2020.

Together with the local dealer network, Astara has played a key role in establishing MG as one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in the region. Today, MG offers a line-up of nine models and has become the largest Chinese automotive brand in Belgium, achieving a market share of more than 1.5%. In 2025, approximately 6,000 MG vehicles were registered in Belgium.

With this strong foundation in place, MG Motor Europe is ready to begin the next chapter of its growth journey in the BeLux market.
